Kunettikoski wilderness hut

The Kunettikoski wilderness hut is around 58 km north-west of Rovaniemi, between Kaitaselkä and Kunettiselkä, less than 100 m from the east shore of Meltausjoki. The spacious cabin has a stove, two tables and benches, and bunks with mattresses for around 10 people. There is a woodshed and an outhouse near the hut. Pets are allowed inside, only if all other possible visitors agree. There are no waste bins, so you have to take back all your garbage.

Directions: drive 2.6 km out of the city centre of Rovaniemi along Sodankyläntie; turn left on Ounasjoen itäpuolentie; drive 48.4 km; turn right on Suopajärventie; drive 11.2 km; turn left on Saittajärventie; drive 15.7 km; turn left on the forest road; drive 7.1 km; follow the trail 700 m to the wilderness hut.
